If you plan to visit Iceland during the winter months (between late September and mid-May), the Toyota Yaris can also drive you safely around the capital area, Golden Circle, and transit between Keflavik International Airport (KEF) and Reykjavik. However, if you would like to drive out of the city and visit the South Coast, Snæfellsnes Peninsula, or travel along the Ring Road, we highly recommend renting a 4×4 vehicle for your Iceland winter road trip. Due to the sometimes tricky winter road conditions and the possibility of sudden extreme weather, a 4×4 car will always be a better choice in these circumstances.
