The 9-seater Ford Transit is the ideal choice for larger families, tour groups, or friends travelling together in Iceland. With spacious seating for up to nine passengers and a generous luggage area, it combines comfort and practicality for long journeys. Its powerful engine, smooth handling, and modern safety features make it reliable for exploring Iceland. Renting a Ford Transit allows everyone to travel together in one vehicle, saving costs compared to multiple rentals while ensuring plenty of space for both people and gear.
Heads-up: Reservations are made by car category. Specific models are not guaranteed.
Where can you drive with the 9-Seater Ford Transit in Iceland?
This vehicle is NOT allowed on F-roads.
The Ford Transit is perfect for exploring Iceland’s main travel routes with a large group, making it well-suited for road trips around the Ring Road, day tours to the Golden Circle, or visiting the South Coast to see waterfalls, glaciers, and black sand beaches. Its spacious design ensures everyone travels together comfortably, with room for luggage and gear. However, because of its size, the Transit can feel less agile on narrow rural roads, and it is not allowed on F-roads in the highlands. It’s best for sticking to paved and well-maintained gravel roads, where it offers comfort, reliability, and plenty of space for group adventures.
Important Reminder: Off-road driving is illegal in Iceland. Driving off-road on lava fields, moss, beaches, or unmarked land will result in heavy fines.
